2021下半年全國大學四六級考試翻譯知識：
轉基因食品(Genetically Modified Food;GMF)是利用基因工程技術生產的食品。它具有產量高、營養豐富、抗病力強等優勢，但也存在明顯的缺陷—可能會造成基因污染(genecontamination)。因此，轉基因食品的安全性一直是一個有爭議的話題。在中國，政府和科學界支持轉基因作物的推廣，卻持續引發信任危機。鑒于人們對相關農產品的安全擔憂，中國政府草擬了新的糧食法，試圖對轉基因食品進行更嚴格的管理。該法規定，任何單位和個人不得在主要糧食品種(principal grain cultivars)上應用轉基因技術。
參考譯文:
Genetically Modified Food/GMF refers to foodproduced by applying the technology of geneticengineering. It has the advantages of highproductivity, rich nutrition and strong diseaseresistance, etc. But its defect is also apparent—itmay lead to gene contamination. Thus, the safety of GMF remains a controversial topic. InChina, the government and the scientific community support the promotion of geneticallymodified crops, but touch off a continuous trust crisis. In view of people's concern about thesafety of related agricultural produces, the Chinese government has drafted a new grainlaw，intending to impose a stricter management on GMF. The law requires that no entity andindividual should apply genetically modified technology to the principal grain cultivars.
1.第二句比較長，可拆譯成兩句，前一句說明轉基因食品的優勢，后一句說它的缺陷。句中含有“但”，表示轉折關系，可以使用But來連接兩個句子。“產量高、營養豐富、抗病力強”可采用“形容詞+名詞”結構，譯成high productivity, richnutrition and strong disease resistance。
2.“卻持續引發信任危機”這句話中，“引發”在英文里不是持續性動詞，不能用continuously來修飾，因此本句可理解為“卻引發了持續的信任危機”,譯成but touch off a continuous trust crisis。
3.倒數第二句“鑒于人們…更嚴格的管理”可將“中國政府草擬了新的糧食法”作為句子主干，把“試圖對轉基因食品進行更嚴格的管理”處理成現在分詞短語作狀語，對主語作進一步的補充說明。
4.最后一句可使用賓語從句的結構，譯為The law requires that...。“任何單位和個人不得…”翻譯時可將“不”字放在前面，修飾“任何單位和個人”，譯為no entity and individual should apply...，該譯法帶有強調意味;也可處理成普通譯法 any entity and individual should not apply...。
